West Africa Competence Institute (WACI) is a technical training center based in Accra that provides professional training for engineers, technicians, and supervisors working in industrial environments. The institute specializes in hazardous area (ATEX/CompEx) competence, electrical installation, inspection, maintenance, and low-voltage safety training for sectors such as oil & gas, mining, and manufacturing. WACI’s programs are designed to improve workforce competence, safety, and compliance when working with electrical systems and equipment in potentially explosive or high-risk environments.
Training in hazardous areas and electrical safety is critical because industrial environments containing flammable gases or dust require specialized knowledge and standards to prevent fires and explosions.
2 DAY COURSE
ExF Qualification has been designed to provide an introduction into potentially explosive or flammable environments where gases, vapours and dust can form a hazardous atmosphere. CompEx is a globally recognized competence scheme.
6 DAY COURSE
CompEx Ex01-Ex04 has been developed for electrical and instrument operatives working in hazardous locations where gases or vapours can form explosive atmospheres. CompEx is a high standard globally recognized and accepted competence scheme.
5 DAY COURSE
Practical training on installation, inspecting, and testing low-voltage electrical installations in accordance with industry standards and best practices. Candidates learn how to improve their installation quality and to verify by testing.
2 DAY COURSE
Fundamentals of electrical safety when working on or near low-voltage systems, including hazard identification, safe isolation, lock-out/tag-out, and safe working procedures.
2-5 DAY COURSE

ATEX Basis has been designed to provide an introduction into potentially explosive or flammable environments where gases, vapours and dust can form a hazardous atmosphere. Candidates receive WACI ATEX certificate when passing the online exam.
5 DAY ONLINE COURSE
This course has been developed for electrical and instrument operatives working in hazardous locations where gases or vapours can form explosive atmospheres. Covering installation requirements and best practice, protection techniques, inspections. Candidates receive a WACI ATEX certificate when passing the online exam.
